About the Author

Parkinson's Disease (PD) requires more strength and energy to address positively than any mountain my husband and I have ever hiked. The ups and downs, highs and lows, ascents and descents are more strikingly challenging and painful than any rugged summit approach or stormy cycling weather conditions we have ever encountered. Yet, we have no choice. We are both in this for the long haul. Stress, negativity, and anxiety do not help the person or the family with PD, but they are easy to succumb to for both the person with PD as well as the family. From our family to yours, worldwide, you are not alone.

We cannot control every detail of life but we can do our best regarding how we react to a situation, an illness that causes a complete change to our life and lifestyle. My love is happy for me to tell our story. We both hope that it will somehow help other families who live with PD. What is my husband’s secret tool? A great sense of humor. Life with PD is not all smiles and joy. Far from it. So, I really appreciate my loved one’s sense of humor and we often find ourselves laughing at ourselves. We agree it is better to laugh than to cry. And we thrive. And we love. Please join our journey Loving on Parkinson's Disease.
